The region south of Interstate 85 in the Upstate of South Carolina is filled with unique cities, historic downtowns, and a patchwork of both native residents and newcomers to the area. Bursting with new people and new places, southern Greenville County is currently missing one important, dedicated service – a news source that does not ignore these areas. In serving these residents, The Community Edge will address local concerns and champion positive outcomes.
The Community Edge will focus on stories most relevant to those who live south of I-85, including Mauldin, Simpsonville, Fountain Inn, Five Forks, the Woodruff Road area, Ware Place, and all areas in between. For businesses targeting the people that live and play here, “The Edge” offers a new option for reaching customers.
As a central component of The Edge, our publisher, Tim Brett, will provide a condensed and “no BS” perspective about local issues and news affecting the coverage area, and typically ignored by other Upstate publications. Brett’s career has been spent working for or against the public and private organizations that affect your lives. He is known for an ability to simplify complex issues and make the murky clear, and will use that perspective to your advantage.
The Edge will help residents and business owners make more informed decisions, providing the facts and perspective needed to understand what’s at stake, then take the actions that will affect positive change. That is what we will be delivering daily, weekly, and as often as needed.
