The Mauldin Police Department is scheduled for an on-site reassessment to verify that it continues to comply with best practices and internationally accepted professional law enforcement standards.
This reassessment will be administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®). This voluntary reaccreditation program requires law enforcement agencies to comply with professional standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the on-site assessment, members of the community, elected officials, and agency personnel are invited to offer comments at a public information session to be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. This public information session will be held at Mauldin City Hall, 5 East Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662 in the City Council Chambers/Court Room.
Community members, partners, elected officials, and agency employees are also invited to offer comments regarding the Mauldin Police Department by calling (864) 404-3281 on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. All comments will be taken by CALEA Assessors.
Telephone and public information session comments will be limited to 10 minutes and should address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards or law enforcement best practices. A copy of the CALEA accreditation standards are available at the Mauldin Police Department and viewable to the public, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Any person wishing to view these standards should contact Captain Tripp at (864) 289-8908 or by email at email@example.com .
