Statement from the City of Simpsonville
Eddie Case was appointed to City Administrator of Simpsonville in January 2017. As former Council member and City Administrator of Fountain Inn, Eddie brought his experience and a vision of growth and progress to Simpsonville. While City Administrator for only a short period of time, Eddie wasted no time implementing his vision and set into motion a framework for Simpsonville to improve on economic and cultural opportunities while remaining focused on providing the highest level of services to the citizens of Simpsonville.
In wake of the sudden passing of City Administrator Eddie Case, Simpsonville City Council held a Special Meeting on Monday, August 7, 2017 to name an Interim City Administrator. While Mayor Curtis, City Council, and City Staff continue to mourn the loss of our City Administrator, we remain dedicated to serving the citizen of Simpsonville and honoring the vision of Eddie Case. In our hearts, we believe that it would be Eddie’s wishes to continue to move forward in his absence.
At the meeting, City Council voted to name Fire Chief Wesley Williams as Interim City Administrator. Chief Williams has been with the City for 23 years and has served as Fire Chief since 2009.
In order to allow City staff to attend funeral services for Eddie Case, City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, August 9 from 10 am – 2 pm.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Case family during this difficult time.
