The Mill Town Players are working on a new project, and this one has children taking the Pelzer stage.
The Summer Intensive for Youth is an answer to a common request from many area parents: for Mill Town to offer theater classes for area children.
Executive Artistic Director Will Ragland announced on Tuesday that the camp will be held June 19-23 for children ages 9-14. The week is divided into classes that focus on acting, dance, and music, and each day ends in a group rehearsal. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in a master class led by a local theater artist.
The final performance will be on Friday, June 23, and is free and open to the public. Students will also have a pizza dinner immediately following.
The cost is $125 per student and includes a t-shirt. Registration forms are available at milltownplayers.org
Interested parents should sign up quick–there are only 30 spots available for this inaugural camp.
The Pelzer Auditorium is located at 214 Lebby St., Pelzer, SC 29669.
