Heigh-ho silver, away!
Simpsonville will celebrate Independence Day on July 1 this summer with the Oak Ridge Boys taking the Amphitheatre stage. The evening will end with the city’s traditional fireworks show.
Called “Simpsonville Celebration,” the concert is free, and so is the parking. The night is being coordinated by the City of Simpsonville and TRZ Management.
The event announcement on Tuesday was well-received by the public, and Councilman Matthew Gooch said “I’m excited to see one of America’s most original and popular talents performing at our Independence Day celebration.”
The Oak Ridge Boys are known for their many hit songs, like “Elvira” and “Fancy Free.”
The popularity of last year’s free Independence Day event led to support for another this year. The city’s mission in both years was to create a night for all citizens to attend and enjoy Heritage Park.
