Lowes Foods opened earlier this year for Five Forks residents, and their location at 2815 Woodruff Rd will be welcoming two new neighbors in the coming months.
The Starbucks at Village Market East will open first, but representatives say they are not yet ready to announce a hard date. The location is already hiring, and applications may be submitted to Starbucks.com/careers
According to construction bid requests found online, the end parcel at unit 107 will be a Maple Street Biscuit Company. The Florida based restaurant describes their fare as comfort food with a modern twist, and the menu boasts buttermilk biscuits, specialty waffles, and signature glass jar salads. This location would be their first in the state. No opening date has been announced, and the interior construction has not yet begun.
Down the road
Lidl (pronounced “leedle”) will open this year, but no date has been announced. It is one of the first twenty stores the German grocer will open in the United States, and will compete with Aldi, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart. The new Lidl store is currently under construction, and located at 2536 Woodruff Rd. Here is what the site looks like today:
The store is in sight of the Woodruff Road Aldi, and separated from BI-LO by a self-storage facility.
Building a (bigger) community
The retail offerings are growing with the population in Five Forks, and Greenville County is responding to the boom with a new library to open next to Village Market East. Construction has long been underway and the building is beginning to look like the renderings. The 28,000 square foot facility opens this fall.
While Five Forks is not an official city name (it is listed as Simpsonville, unincorporated and in Greenville County), it has turned into a unique and growing area. The new retail and public construction joins the heavy residential development, and the growth is expected to continue.
