FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY
FIRE Theatre Co.’s Godspell returns this weekend with three more performances at the Younts Center for Performing Arts.
From FIRE Theatre Co.: “The Gospel According to St. Matthew is presented in a series of skits and songs, with Jesus and his disciples presented as a group of playful 2000’s era teens, in this musical featuring songs by Stephen Schwartz, conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak.”
Godspell is directed by Zachary Pelicano, and features music directed by Chase McAbee.
Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30pm, and Sunday is at 3:00pm. Visit yountscenter.org to purchase tickets.
Fountain Inn’s popular Bandstand Series in Commerce Park will host Split Shot, a local band with a range of numbers including country, rock, R&B, dance, and beach music. Growler Haus will be serving beer outdoors, and The Railhouse Restaurant is bringing food to the guests with their food truck.
Last week’s Bandstand show was canceled due to rain, but the weather is looking good for this week–low eighties and no rain. The music begins at 7:00pm and lasts to 9:00pm. All Bandstand Series shows are free.
The Farmers Market at Fountain Inn will start at 8am at the Farmers Market Pavilion (100 Depot Street). This market boasts a full range of products, including Carolina Growers Group meat, in season produce, and handmade goods from local artisans. (Reminder to grab your reusable shopping bags if you use them–produce offerings are growing by the week.)
The city’s Bluegrass series, Depot PickINN, will feature the Fifth String Bluegrass Band at the Farmers Market Pavilion. This is another free show, and starts at 7:00pm. Remember to bring a chair unless you plan to dance!
