Fountain Inn City Council met again on Tuesday in a special called meeting. The purpose was an executive session to discuss an employee at the Younts Center for Performing Arts, as well as a proposed contract regarding the Younts Center.
Council met behind closed doors for 2 hours, while an anxious crowd awaited news. No action was taken on either matter, however.
The existence of a proposed contract, first announced in the meeting notice, was a surprise to many. The public did not know that the new 2017-18 budget called for outsourcing the Younts Center administration until last week. Council has not revealed any details or the identity of the company, or if the proposal is still on the table.
The next meeting for Fountain Inn is a public hearing on the 2017-18 budget, and citizens will be able to address council with their concerns by signing up at the door. It will be held at City Hall from 6-9pm on May 31.
